About MAS Wales
The Manufacturing Advisory Service Wales (MAS) is part of a DTI initiative to help manufacturers to improve their productivity and performance. It is a nation-wide scheme, which in Wales, is run by a consortium of private consultancy companies and is supported by the Welsh Assembly Government.
MAS Wales aims to:
. Deliver tangible improvements through providing hands-on advice and support
. Work with new and existing partners to provide value and support to Welsh manufacturers
. Provide answers to manufacturing problems.
MAS is a service delivered by manufacturing people for manufacturing people. We focus on helping manufacturers implement best practice as part of a strategy of sustainable long-term growth.

Key Personel
Paul Byard, Chief Executive
A General Manager / Technical and Business Development Director who has proven record in strategic planning to achieve profitable growth. The ability to strategise and implement through sales, marketing, research, development and project management. This to be achieved in a timely effective manner to fulfil the growth plans of the company.
Responsible for improving profit contribution made from all products. This requires an in-depth knowledge of customer requirements to design and fulfil their needs whilst continuing to ensure component rationalisation and product proliferation are managed between all functions. This allows faster Time to Market at minimum capital cost.
With the ever-increasing demand for new innovative products and services which requires an integrated approach to business activities. From pre-concept, development to launch ensuring the product and service can deliver high standards of performance. This approach must be put in context with VOC Strategies,Technology roads maps and linked to Government support Strategies.
William Campion, MAS Advisor
Will is a Chartered Engineer with over 10 years experience in manufacturing. Starting as a Production Engineer at Sony he gained experience in machine programming, fault diagnostics, new product introduction and equipment commissioning. This experience was further enhanced with Harman-Becker a Tier 1 Automotive supplier of audio systems.
Will then spent 3 years in production management in the Automotive and Cosmetic industries before joining Strategem as a process improvement consultant. Will has been involved in many successful improvement projects in a wide range of companies across Wales. Will has recently joined MAS Wales as an Advisor.
Paul Bailey, MAS Advisor
Paul has a background in engineering and has worked on a number of programmes designed to help Welsh manufacturers improve their competitiveness. These include the Product Innovation Network to help SMEs with new product and process design, the GMC Resource Network project helping electronics businesses achieve EMC conformance. Paul's experience of running major programmes in Wales and of organising workshops and seminars will be deployed to enable MAS Wales to operate effectively and efficiently.
